YOU TAKE THE PHOTOGRAPHS, I MAKE THE MODEL! ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!

So, what if you're not "local" to the areas I cover? Well, I've started to make models of buildings all over the UK and abroad. How? I've worked with some customers who have asked me if I can make a model just from one photograph and the answer is "I really need more than one, but here's how I could do it"
These customers have been happy to follow my suggestions about how to take the photographs themselves. I do this by drawing a plan which shows where I'd need them taking from - the angles, the details and to include any special features in close-up. I use web based sites to get aerial pictures and local views also - these all help to build up the series of pictures I need.

* BUT PLEASE NOTE - I CAN ONLY MAKE A MODEL THIS WAY IF THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURES IS SUFFICIENTLY HIGH - IDEALLY A MINIMUM OF 300KB AND IN JPG. FORMAT. If this isn't possible, I'll be happy to negotiate costs for taking them myself, including travel.

During this process, I prepare "rough" drawings of what I believe is correct and ask the customer to let me know if I've got it "right" or not. Once the customer is happy that I've captured all the details they want, I can start on the model. I'll take pictures at different stages of building the model and send them to the customer so they can again give me feedback. And I've found this has worked very successfully on those I've done this way.
In one case, where the customer wanted the "surprise" element of only seeing the model when it was finished, I listed the questions I wanted to ask them and got the answers from them. It's really quite "exciting"!
And when complete, I'm quite happy to deliver the finished model in person - not wanting to trust a 3rd party with a wood framed glass cabinet. But there are no doubt other ways of getting the model to the customer which I'll continue to look at.
